Join in Wild Swimming at The Big Retreat

Meet your professional guides Laura and Meg from 💕

Meet the girls..

Our idea was born while immersed in the nippy waters of Llyn Gwynant at the foot of Snowdon.

Several swims, hard boiled eggs and campfires followed and by spring 2019, we brought Wild Swim Snowdonia to life.

We would love to see more people swimming year round, both locally in our own community and visitors.
Through our guided wild swimming and our local swim meets, we are going to do our bit to help make this happen.

Our environmental impact is a huge priority for us and we will embed our ethically minded approach into every swim we do.

This is echoed through our roles as Snowdonia representatives for Surfers Against Sewage Snowdonia Beach Clean

Laura aka @wildwelshswimmer is a lover of water, art and the environment and is determined to do her bit in educating the next generation on conservation. It’s definitely rubbing off on her tribe with a six year old son insisting on collecting huge armfuls of rubbish every time he's at the local beach and a her teenage daughter with a heart set on a career in marine biology! When not wild swimming, Laura can be found in her art studio or scanning a map for the next dip.

Meet Meg

A farmer’s daughter, Meg has grown up with Snowdonia as her playground. Meg is mother to a willful toddler who had his first dunk in a welsh lake age 9 months! A PR girl, when not swimming her beloved breaststroke Meg can be found with her son on her back on some mountain mission or planning where to next pitch her tent!
