John Gregory-Smith is a chef, presenter and best selling author who specialises in Middle Eastern and North African cuisine. He has written six cookbooks, including Saffron in the Souks, Orange Blossom and Honey, Turkish Delights, Mighty Spice Express, Mighty Spice Cookbook and Fire and Spice. He has a regular food travel section Channel 4s Sunday Brunch and a column in the The Daily Telegraph.
John is passionate about travelling to far-flung, and often undiscovered destinations to learn about the food, and use the cuisine as a way to understand the wider culture. He is all about local, home cooking and sizzling street foods. He has travelled extensively around Lebanon, Morocco, Turkey, Israel, Palestine, India, Mexico, China and Southeast Asia.
John has a monthly column, Saturday Supper Club with The Telegraph where he shares three everyday easy recipes for dinner. John works as a presenter appearing regularly on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and ITV’s This Morning. He also works as a journalist and has written for various publications including Condé Nast Traveller, Grazia, BA Highlife, Evening Standard, Attitude, Metro, Delicious and Out There.
