“It gives the Darwin Centre great pleasure to be supporting the Big Retreat Wales. The event looks set to light up the Festival season in the county. A wonderful celebration of the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire, at a magical and historic site, good luck to the Big Retreat Wales team”. Marten Lewis FRSA, Executive Director, Darwin Centre.
We are delighted to welcome Clare Flynn to run two 2 hour sessions around our glorious Festival site, enthusing about and engaging with the natural environment.
This session is for all ages. Check the timetable for details.
Meet Clare: Hi! I am a Freelance Naturalist and Educator with a passion for plants and pollinators, particularly wild bees. Join me on a gentle Nature Discovery walk around the Festival site where I can point out some of the little things as well as the more eye catching and help to give a deeper understanding and appreciation of the habitats and wildlife around you. With a particular interest in wildlife gardening and the role of gardens in conservation I'll be talking about what you can do after leaving the festival to help create a relaxing wildlife haven in your own gardens - especially bees!
We'll be asking families to create some natural art to celebrate the festival using found materials from the beautiful woodland and meadow surroundings. Let your imagination run wild!
