Food & Drink

BigRetreaters can look forward to the return of some of the talented chefs who entertained (and fed) us with some of their mouth-watering concoctions in the cookery tent last year, and there will be some exciting new faces that we will be announcing in the new year!
To balance out some of the ‘naughty-but-nice-go-on-just-one-more’ cookery, we also have nutrition talks and juicing workshops where you’ll get all the motivation and know-how you need to kick start a mini health and wellbeing revolution in your own kitchen! We even get the kids involved (yes, it IS possible…).
Oh yes, and there are Gin Workshops. Do we need to mention them? We do? OK, well our Big Retreaters couldn’t get enough of these classes last year so they’re back, larger than ever (the classes). They’re extremely popular, so get there on the double. You know where the gin goes, but at the Big Retreat you can also learn about where it comes from, the different types and how to make the perfect G&T. (Gin Workshops are included in the ticket price. All products used are extensively tested for quality control purposes.)

We are big, no, VERY BIG on local food and drink, and there was a lot of love for the food and drink on site at the Big Retreat last year… The famous Little Peppercorn burgers, Majical Youth's amazing wood fired Pizzas, the simply divine vegan Café Pura and many, many more delivered a richly varied and delicious range along the Street Food Market in the Rose Garden. Our very own village pub landlord Steve runs the well stocked pop-up bar with local ales and ciders to refresh our thirsty Retreaters too. But if you want a taste of the truly local you might want to try the farm’s yummy Calon Wen milk shakes and frozen yoghurts while watching the very cows who produce the milk graze the fields below.
