The Big Retreat Wales is are passionate about mental wellbeing and ensuring all groups in our society have opportunities and outlets to share, find solutions - or simply just be heard. We are thrilled to announce a new addition to our 2020 line up - Sean Fletcher.
You might recognise Sean from BBC Countryfile - or as the sport presenter on Good Morning Britain, from his stint on Sky sports or from Inside Out London... You might not know he is a fluent Welsh speaker (he started his career in BBC Wales Cardiff ) or that he is an Ambassador for Mental Health Mates.
Sean will be leading a Mental Health Matters (MHM) walk around the stunning festival location on the Cleddau estuary.
“Ever since my son was diagnosed with OCD in 2015 I have been a passionate advocate for improving mental wellbeing, particularly for young people and men – two groups which appear to be more vulnerable than others in modern society.
Some of the solutions are simple – sharing without judgement, as well as getting outside and walking, which is exactly what Mental Health Mates do every week up and down the country.
As an ambassador for the project, I’m delighted to play a part in The Big Retreat Wales, to pass on what I’ve learnt over the past 5 years through my son and my campaigning. And given I’m a welsh speaker, I couldn’t think of a better place to do it.”
