Had your fill of kale smoothies? Kayaking worn you out? No good festival is complete without a bit of wordery…and the The Big Retreat Wales is no exception..
But this time we thought it would be more fun to get YOUR words involved too.. That way you get to go home with your own personal festival poem, crafted by our very own resident poets...Alistair Brunker and Tunde Olatunji...
Fancy a serious sonnet? A dodgy doggerel perhaps? Or will a lively limerick do? A fan of slam? A ballad with your salad? Or perhaps a haiku strikes you too?
Our poets know their rhyme from their reason, and this is the season… for silliness of all forms…
So, come along and spend a minute or two at our most unusual shop. We don't sell anything at all, and the cost to you is nothing more than a few minutes and a few words. You leave our shop with something that can be shared with friends and family, and each time you share it, your gift becomes more valuable...
Stories are what we offer, but not just ours. Your stories as well. Here is how The Versability Shop works.
- You bring an object or an idea, or simply some words. We convert what you have given us into a short bit of verse or story.
- We tell you, one time only, the story we have made for you. You go away with the story and share it with as many people as you like
- You tell us a story, and we versify you story (through an ancient and very powerful process). We tell you your versified story, and you can now take away a spanking new versified story to share with family and friends.
Co-Create a Legendary Festival Poem with us! Drop by and fill out a post card with words capturing your impressions and feelings about your weekend. At the end of the festival the management of the Versability Shop will create and perform verse(s) from your contributions.
