Making the Most of The Big Retreat Wales 2018

You've got your ticket now it's time to get planning to make sure you experience everything the appeals to you at The Big Retreat Wales 2018. So - what is happening, where is it happening - and do you have to Book anything?

We have been busy as bees planning The Big Retreat Wales 2018 - and we have more on offer than last year. We have expanded the site to include a new Field of Dreams where you'll find The Yoga Tent, The Talk Tent and our Therapy Tent.  We have a dedicated Cookery Tent as well as a Craft Zone with local artists and crafters. We have a Trade side where we have some handpicked delights for you to explore too.  We have Bushcraft set in the woods - or go foraging with Jade Mellor - be sure to explore our amazing & magical Festival site. Our Music Stage will have featured music from around midday every day. Our trusty food vendors are there to re-fuel after a hectic workout - and we have Gin workshops to chill out at the end of the day. 

How to Plan Your Day 

Friday - gates open at 10.00am for access to the Campsite to set up base, with classes starting at Noon,  On Saturday & Sunday - gates open & activity starts at 7.00am so come join us early for a workout!  Remember your yoga mat, towel, water bottle & cash. We do have some 'Contactless' facilities but there is no ATM on site.  Remember to bring a few layers - it's May, it's the UK - don't get chilly between classes! 

Hand-pick your day from our Timetable. For most of our 200 hours of activities - you don't need to pre-book - simply turn up (we suggest 15 mins ahead of the classes you most want to see) . Do as much or as little as you please all weekend! For All Things You Can Book in Advance - Click Here

Mix up your classes,  talks & demos  - remember to get out of your comfort zone & try something new. We have put together a timetable for you do do just that - go Dowsing with Tom Lawless (no matter how sceptical you are!) or take a Dance class - amazing Mundo 4.30pm Friday, join a Barn Dance on Saturday or strut your Strictly Come Dancing skills with Strictly Fit! Go Clubbercising or join Pound Rock workout and come to one of the many talks on plant based healthcare.
Come to the talk & Cooking Demo  by Bug Farm Foods - could you eat crickets?! 

There's an action packed schedule for our younger guests too. Some require parents to stay with the youngsters and some do not - please check with the tutor when bringing your under 12's  to a class. We have a separate area for Family Camping too .

The Basics - an Overview 

Just to familiarise yourself with what's on offer  - here are the venues and what to expect: 

The Fitness Tent: Located in the middle of the Festival site and features classes from our Fitness Team - everything from Rock Pound, Clubbercise, workouts with BFit, Strictly Fit , danceSing and more.  We have 2 major 'join in' sessions -wth the lovely Yonier Garcia of Mundo Dance (4.30pm Friday) and a Barn Dance with Cappa Ceidlh band on Saturday afternoon -- grab your partners by the hand! 

The Yoga Tent: Set in the Field of Dreams - just a short step away from the main Festival site with an amazing view over the Cleddau. Here you will find our Yoga classes - with early morning and late evening classes added too. 

The Cookery Tent: At the front of the main Festival site.  Here we have a weekend dedicated to food - demonstrations and talks on Nutrition, Cakes, Vegan, Juicing, Indian Cookery,   Bug Farm Foods - and Gin! 

The Talk Tent:  in our Field of Dreams. Hosted by blogger Ms Toni Jones, we have a wonderful array of authors and speakers to inspire you -- from Digital Detox, to getting REAL, Surfers against Sewage will share their passions and you can learn about recycling and Up cycling with the Remakery. 

The Chill Out Zone:  Situated on the main Festival site & equipped with straw bales and bean bags - simply chill out between sessions.  Grab a Juice or a foodie treat from our vendors & kick back.  Here you will find our Arts & Craft folk - come join in and try your hand at something new.

Bushcraft and Spooncarving - if you want to live 'off-grid' you'll need some bushcraft skills - come and learn from Buzzard Chris Bushcraft and David of the Coppice Plot - we recommend you book your spoon carving space as it was so popular last year - see here for details 

doTerra Zone:  We're thrilled to welcome doTerra - situated at the back of the Chill Out Zone.  Join Mairi Taylor and her team for talks, mini treatments & workshops and learn more about your health and essential oils.

The Kids Zone:  Situated next to The Fitness Zone - when they're not off on Bug hunts or leaning about Bushcraft - we have activities here for our younger guests. Please check with the instructor as to whether or not you need to stay with your child during the class.    Vintage Swing Boats  are here too -- operating through the weekend on a schedule. Free of Charge .. great for the kids and Nice for the Pocket!
