6 Reasons to come Solo to The Big Retreat

 

The Big Retreat is like a beautiful flowing river. Its power as a fantastic shared experience coming from the hundreds of streams of different people joining in from all directions. Some join as groups or families, but others come alone. Whichever way you arrive though, you all add something to the weekend and, inspired by the ideas and energy of new friends, you’re much more likely to try new things and take away something special once you’ve left the swirling mix!

Making time for activities you enjoy and by taking care of your own needs, you can boost your resilience and be better geared to face life's challenges. Just by having a go, you’ll build positive beliefs in your abilities. Becoming more confident in yourself is a great way to build resilience for the future.

When travelling alone, you choose what to do, how and when you want to do it. Even if you are bringing your kids, there’s so much to keep them occupied that you will be able to take time out for you-time.

Research suggests that getting into holiday mode has the potential to increase our happiness levels. Spending time alone has also been shown to stave off depression. So, heading off on a solo adventure just might be good for your overall wellbeing.

However, nothing is likely to beat the feeling of walking away having crossed paths with people you’re going to want to be connected to for the rest of your life.
